A Lesson in True Beauty

       I am one of the luckiest people in the world. My college roommate is the best. We share a lot of the same struggles and are able to talk about how God sees those struggles. We are also very able to be honest with each other. God has truly blessed me with her.

      We both woke up 45 minutes before our alarm was scheduled to go off this morning. We decided to get up and shower and start getting ready for church early so that we could take our time. Somehow our conversation turned toward body image and how we view ourselves. We both agreed that the way we see ourselves is very far off from how God views us. As we were talking, the song "Beautiful for Me" came on, by Nichole Nordeman. It really got our attention. We are so beautifully made and we both are regretful that it took us until college to be content with our bodies. We aren't perfectly content with who we are, but God is, and His is the only vote that counts.
