These Kids...
My neighbors are the best. They have been entrusting my sister and me with their children since before their oldest was able to walk. I have spoken about their daughters before and I am sure this will not be my last post about them. I really, truly and unconditionally love these children. In my eyes they are a part of my family. Okay, so you may be thinking, how is this relevant? Let me tell you, I enjoy spending time with these children and they make me look forward to having some of my own some day.
I recently decided that I wanted to take the oldest boy, Sam, on a "date". I took him to a movie we had in town called "Epic" (really cute movie by the way). Anyway, I was so excited to spend some 1 on 1 time with my favorite boy ever... sadly, his sister didn't feel the same. She was sad when I came to pick Sam up and she didn't get to go with us. I told her that we would go another time. I proceeded to take Sam to my house so that we could go to the movie, all the while hearing Cece crying inside. Now, I love these children and I was sad that she was upset at not being able to go. As previously stated, though, I was excited to spend 1 on 1 time with Sam. After all he needs a break, he even told me, "Bekah, this is a date and no sisters are allowed... because they are always crabby." We had a fun time eating Mike & Ike's, chatting before the movie started and watching the movie together. I had a lot of fun and I decided that I would have to do something with Cece as well. That was a week ago.
Today, Cece and I had girl day. Being a 2-year-old makes it hard to find something to do. She won't sit still for a movie, she doesn't realize the excitement of shopping (although I am willing to teach her) and she doesn't exactly hold a solid conversation for "girl chat". After mulling through possible fun days I came upon the conclusion to take her to the pool. She lasted surprisingly long in the water and tired herself out. I loved both of these "dates" and can't wait to find more fun things to do together this summer. These kids are so fun to be around and hang out with. They never make me feel like I'm too weird and oftentimes join in on my silliness. I couldn't ask for better neighbors and a better second family. I love these kids to pieces... now to find something special to do with their six month old sister...

Note: The photos of Sam and me were taken in the dark theater, therefore; the photographs are grainy.
